Why post the weather?

When we were younger & lived  in California, every few weeks on Sunday evening we talked to our parents to let them know how life was going, that we were safe & we loved them. Back in the 70's a long distance phone call was 42 cents per minute!   Almost always the weather was the first thing that was discussed.  On our family website you will always know what the weather is here.
